Questions
Does Privapanda upload my data?
No. Your browser opens the export on your own device and nothing in it is sent anywhere. The only requests the page makes are anonymous counts, like “report saved”, and your email if you join the waitlist. You can watch this in your browser’s network tab.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no account and no sign-up. Drop in an export and read what it says.
Which apps can it read?
Instagram, Facebook, ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Meta’s Muse. Drop in exports from several of them at once and it works out which is which.
How do I download my data?
Each of these apps has a download option in its settings. Where there’s a choice, ask for JSON and all time, and skip photos. Each app’s guide has the exact steps.
How big can an export be?
Up to 8 GB. Big exports are read in pieces, and photos and videos are skipped, so years of Facebook history still fit.
What do “their guess”, “you did” and “you said” mean?
Every finding is labelled by where it came from. “Their guess” is something the platform inferred about you, “you did” is drawn from your activity, and “you said” comes from your own words.
Is anything kept after I close the tab?
No. Nothing from your exports is stored, in your browser or on our servers. Close the tab and it’s gone.
