What does Claude know about you?

Claude keeps your chats, your projects and a memory: what Claude has written down about you. Its data export holds all of that, plus the country of each sign-in. Ask for it in Settings → Privacy → Export data, then drop the files into Privapanda to read them on your own device.

What’s in your Claude export

  • Your conversations: your messages, Claude’s replies and any files you attached.
  • Memories: what Claude has written down about you.
  • Your projects, with their names, descriptions and documents.
  • Your sign-in history, with a country for each sign-in.

What Privapanda shows you

  • The memory Claude wrote about you, in full.
  • The themes, projects and worries that run through your chats, and when you tend to chat.
  • Your projects, and the countries you signed in from.

Privapanda reads only your side of each chat. Claude’s replies and thinking are skipped. Your files are read in your browser and never uploaded.

How to download your Claude data

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Privacy → Export data.
  2. From Anthropic’s email, save the small list file it gives you (named manifest-….json).
  3. Drop that file into Privapanda and we’ll turn it into download buttons, one per zip.
  4. Download the ones we mark as needed, then drop those zips into Privapanda too.

Anthropic emails you a small file listing your downloads. The memories zip holds what Claude has written down about you.

How to turn it off

Stop your chats training Claude

  • Settings → Privacy → turn off “Help improve Claude”.

Edit the memory Claude keeps about you

  • In Claude’s settings, open “Memory” and remove anything you don’t want kept.

Keep the sensitive stuff out of chatbots

  • Don’t paste ID numbers, health records, bank details or passwords. If you need help with a document, remove names and numbers first.

Menus move around: if a step doesn’t match, search the app’s settings for the words in quotes.
