What does Grok know about you?
Grok keeps your chats, including ones you marked temporary, and a record of each sign-in with the city, country, postcode, coordinates and IP address it came from. Request your data in Grok’s Settings → Data controls, then drop the zip into Privapanda to read it on your own device.
What’s in your Grok export
- Your conversations: your messages, Grok’s replies and which model answered.
- Chats you marked temporary.
- Each sign-in, with city, country, postcode, coordinates and IP address.
- Any API keys you created.
What Privapanda shows you
- The themes, projects and worries that run through your chats, and when you tend to chat.
- Which models answered you, and how often Grok used tools.
- Where you sign in from, by city and country.
Grok’s replies, search results, IP addresses, postcodes, exact coordinates, API keys and your name and email are never kept. Your files are read in your browser and never uploaded.
How to download your Grok data
- In Grok, open Settings → Data controls and request your data.
- Download the zip when it’s ready and drop it into Privapanda.
xAI prepares a zip for download. Includes chats you marked temporary.
How to turn it off
Stop X training Grok on you
- On X: Settings and privacy → Privacy and safety → “Grok & Third-party Collaborators”, and untick sharing your data for training.
Keep the sensitive stuff out of chatbots
- Don’t paste ID numbers, health records, bank details or passwords. If you need help with a document, remove names and numbers first.
Menus move around: if a step doesn’t match, search the app’s settings for the words in quotes.
See it for yourself
Free, no account, and your files never leave your browser.
